Train as a Forensic Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and take care of victims of sexual assault in St. Croix and Polk Counties in Wisconsin. You must be able to respond to one of the hospitals within 30 minutes.

The five-day seminar teaches nurses the key components and skills necessary to provide effective healthcare and services to the adult and adolescent victims of sexual assault. This course provides in-depth knowledge on the role of the SANE, including forensic evidence collection, documentation and testifying in court. Assistance with starting and maintaining a SANE program is also provided. Course material will also focus on the psychological dynamics of sexual assault, including care of both male and female survivors. Participants will learn how to collaborate with other key team members, i.e. advocates, crisis counselors, police and district attorneys. Completion of the didactic course does not guarantee independent practice in this role, as clinical experience is required.

Date of training to be announced late July 2010. Training is free!

Hours of on call: A minimum of 8 – 8 hour shifts per month including one weekend a month. Occasional holidays

General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities

2.Provides medical treatment as ordered and performs procedures according to MNHC nursing protocol.

3.Provides leadership, evaluations, and direct supervision to the assistant clinic coordinator and medical assistants.

4.Supervises the patient flow in clinical area with particular attention to the appropriate triage of adult medicine patients as well as the effective communication with other departments that impact patient flow such as registration, medical records, billing, laboratory, etc.
5.Supervises the preparation of patients for medical evaluation including an assessment that patients are correctly vitalized and monitors availability of charts, labs, and forms.

7.Supervises the disposition of patients after medical evaluation to ensure that the appropriate medical plans are properly enacted including imparting the relevant health education material.

8.Supervises the effective participation in Quality Improvement Activities with particular attention to the logs, programs and registries for chronic diseases.

9.Performs other duties as assigned by Medical Director.
10.Attends and participates in nursing staff meetings.

CHC seeks an experienced primary care provider as a Family Nurse Practitioner in one of our school-based health centers in Stamford, CT.

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will:
• Provide a full scope of medical services largely geared to underserved populations;

• Receive strong clinical support services and work in an innovative practice environment utilizing Advanced Access scheduling.

Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited Master of Science in Nursing program with a specialty as a Family Nurse Practitioner;
• ANA certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner;
• State of Connecticut APRN and RN licensure (within 12 months) required;
• DCF experience preferred;
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
