I have experience in the care of both the elderly and those who have sustained a spinal cord injury. I started off as a Certified Nursing Assistant working in the field of Geriatrics. I cared for the elderly in nursing homes for nearly six years. In that time I acquired experience in the areas of but not limited to Proper Transfer Tech. Bathing, Grooming, Feeding Range of Motion Catheter care and some light wound care. After caring for the elderly I was hired as a Personal Assistant for a gentleman who sustained a spinal cord injury ( C-4 to be exact ) I cared for this gentleman for 5 years. While caring for him I gained experience in but not limited to Proper transfer tech . bowel care Cath care range of motion grooming bathing dressing oral care etc. I am no longer licensed as a CNA but have very valuable experience. I am currently working full-time at Employment Service Center with Community Mental Health Dept/Visiting Nurse Services of New York as Vocational Clinical Case Manager. 
I hold a Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a concentration in serving individuals’ with disabilities.  I also held Associates Degree, Human Services concentration aiding a very diversity community.  I continue to volunteer within my community assisting both adolescents and adults with Physical/Mental Health issues preparing them for workforce.  I continue to maintain a positive attitude with each task I undertake, which allows me to gain some incite with Mental Health Consumer’s that I serviced.  I also had experiencing working in the field throughout the five boroughs and visiting the consumer’s at their homes.
