JOB SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with neurological and musculoskeletal disorders through the use of heat, cold, electricity, massage, water, compression, exercise, and manual therapy techniques. The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing quality patient care, assisting with in-servicing staff, and community education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

education
• Licensed by the State of Wisconsin

• Graduate of an approved physical therapy school.

• Current CPR certified.

Experience
• None required; 2+ years preferred.

• Membership in a professional organization

Skills
• Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain rapport with medical staff and other hospital departments.

• Teaching skills for in-service and clinical education
• Current PT treatment skills
MAJOR

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Upon medical referral, Therapist will evaluate and provide physical therapy treatments to child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as appropriate.

2. Maintains appropriate documentation of physical therapy treatment and recommendations.

3. Assists Director with program development.

4. Supervises Physical Therapist Assistant.

5. Participates in appropriate meetings.

6. Assists with writing of departmental forms.

7. Provides in-service education to medical, hospital and contract agencies staff.

8. Maintains appropriate communication with medical staff.

9. Maintains continuing education requirements.

10. Promotes an environment of teamwork, customer service and positive communications.

11. Participates in department quality improvement activities.

12. Complies with department Infection Control standards.

1. Continuous Standing/Walking (67-100% or 6-8 hours/8 hr day)

2. Frequent Sitting/Balancing (34-66% or 2.5-5.5 hours/8 hr day)

3. Occasional Reaching from Floor Height to Above Shoulder Height (1-33% or 1-2 hours/8 hr day)

4. Occasional Climbing (1-33% or 1-2 hours/8 hr day)

5. Occasional Pushing/Pulling of 0# to 400# (1-33% or 1-2 hours/8 hr day)
